At The Story Crafters Company, we believe every child has a story worth telling; a talent worth showing. Our after-school club blends drama, creativity, writing, and performance with practical skills like marketing, design, craft, computing and financial budgeting in a playful, supportive environment that sparks creativity and builds confidence.
With small groups, expert guidance, and plenty of opportunities to explore, create, share, and perform, children develop skills that last well beyond the stage — from teamwork and communication to imagination and self-expression. Children can expect all groups to be working in tandem and collaboratively to manage all aspects of running a theatre company.

Our theatre company is led by Ms Rosie Thomas, a drama specialist, examiner for GCSE, A-Level and LAMDA, and founder of a publicly funded drama company that has supported young performers into the country’s top drama schools. Rosie brings a wealth of professional expertise and industry connections, alongside her passion for theatre, history, and art. With her guidance, children at The Story Crafters Company will enjoy an inspiring and truly unique creative experience.
Our dance programme is led by Wesley, a professional dancer with over 20 years’ experience performing around the world. Trained in London and California, he has starred in music videos, commercials, touring shows, and pantomime, most recently as the Grinch. Wesley’s energy and creativity make him a favourite with children, and he brings a unique flair to every workshop, helping our young performers shine on stage.
Our Principal Director, Mr Chris, brings together his expertise in education, design, and digital media to make The Story Crafters Company truly unique. From teaching skills in set and costume design to script writing, film production, and photography, Chris ensures every child has the opportunity to showcase their skills where they feel most comfortable. His creative vision and leadership guarantee that every child’s work is showcased with professionalism and flair.
The Story Crafters Company is led by Ms Rosie Thomas, an experienced drama specialist with a wealth of knowledge and industry connections. Rosie brings her expertise as a GCSE, A-Level, and LAMDA examiner and as the founder of a publicly funded theatre company that helps young performers progress to some of the country’s top drama schools.
Since beginning her teaching career in 2017, Rosie has taught across leading private schools and specialist performing arts schools, combining her passions for theatre, history, and art to inspire young learners. Her flexible and student-centred approach ensures that every child is supported to grow in confidence and creativity.
Rosie’s unique blend of teaching excellence and professional theatre experience makes her the perfect guide for our young storytellers — offering them not just outstanding lessons, but also a pathway into the wider world of performance and creativity.
The Story Crafters Company is proud to welcome Wesley, a dynamic and versatile dance specialist with over 20 years of professional experience in the entertainment industry. From the industrial heartlands of South Wales to stages across the globe, Wesley has carved out a remarkable career as a performer and choreographer.
A graduate of the London Contemporary Dance School and the California Institute of the Arts, Wesley has toured internationally with professional dance companies, starred in music videos and commercials, and performed in theatre, including his recent role as the Grinch in the 2022/3 pantomime season.
Passionate about sharing his craft with young people, Wesley brings boundless energy, creativity, and fun to every session. Whether through dance, movement, or even donning the costume of a child’s favourite superhero, he knows how to inspire confidence and joy in young performers.
At the heart of The Story Crafters Company is Chris, Principal Director of GLA Tutors and the creative driving force behind the programme. Chris oversees every element that brings the company to life — from set and costume design, script writing, and computing, to marketing, filmmaking, and photography.
With a background in education and a passion for storytelling and writing, he ensures that each performance is not only a creative experience for children but also a professional-quality production. His ability to weave together the technical and artistic sides of theatre gives the company its distinctive edge, making sure that every child’s story is captured, shared, and celebrated.
Our sessions take place in the beautiful and atmospheric old school library, a space full of character and history. This inspiring setting is now being transformed into the school’s very first purpose-designed theatre, complete with stage panels, lighting, and performance facilities. It will become the new home of our creative arts programme — a place where stories come to life, children’s imaginations take centre stage, and the whole school community can share in the magic of performance and creative arts.
At The Story Crafters Company, children experience the full breadth of the performing arts — singing, dancing, music, and acting. Each strand offers them the chance to express themselves, build confidence, and develop creativity while working as part of an ensemble. With expert guidance, pupils not only explore performance for enjoyment but also begin to develop the skills and discipline of trained young artists, laying strong foundations for future opportunities in the field.
Alongside performance, children can step behind the scenes and explore the wider world of the creative arts. From set and costume design to filmmaking and photography, they gain hands-on experience in bringing stories to life in different ways. These opportunities allow pupils to discover new talents, develop technical and artistic skills, and see how every role — on stage and off — contributes to the magic of a production.
As part of their journey, children will also build valuable functional skills that extend beyond the stage. They will learn to use computing software to design posters and marketing materials, practise managing a simple financial budget, and develop confidence in carrying out online research safely to generate creative ideas. In addition, they will gain practical experience with stage lighting and technical equipment, giving them a well-rounded understanding of how the arts and real-world skills work hand in hand.
Children will also have the chance to step into the role of creative directors, shaping the vision of their own productions. They will explore how to direct plays, generate story arcs, and plan and write plot lines and scripts that bring their ideas to life. Alongside this, they will experiment with music, DJ'ing and sound effects, learning how these elements enhance atmosphere and storytelling. This strand encourages leadership, imagination, and collaboration, giving children the confidence to guide others while developing their own artistic voice.

As part of our commitment to giving children real-world experiences, The Story Crafters Company offers an annual enrichment programme of three inspiring trips. Each year, pupils will enjoy a visit to a professional theatre, giving them the chance to see live performance in action and connect their learning to the stage. Alongside this, they will experience a film and media studio tour at the Sky Up Academy, exploring the worlds of filmmaking, photography, and sound production. Finally, they will take part in an art and design or costume workshop, discovering how visual creativity, set design, and costumes bring stories to life. Together, these trips broaden horizons, spark new ideas, and give children a taste of the many exciting pathways within the creative industries.

To celebrate Libraries Week 2025 (October 6th–10th), we will host a week-long programme of events that combines a love of reading with the excitement of performance.
The highlight will be the hard launch party for our new 'Story Crafters Company' club, where families can discover more about the opportunities on offer.
Throughout the week there will be literature-themed activities, creative competitions, and dress-up days, as well as visits from surprise guests to inspire our young readers and performers. Children will be able to take part in storytelling workshops, book swaps, and mini performances that bring favourite stories to life on stage. We also plan to showcase our new theatre space in the school library, making it a vibrant hub of creativity and reading for all.
We are delighted to be partnering with Usborne Books to host three inspiring “Meet the Author” workshops each year. These sessions will give children the chance to meet published authors in person, hear about the writing process, and discover the inspiration behind their stories. Each workshop will include a lively talk, interactive Q&A, and book signing, as well as practical activities to spark creativity and encourage a love of reading and writing. These special events will not only motivate our young storytellers but also help them see that becoming an author is an achievable and exciting goal.

With our wraparound care provision, families can benefit from great value and peace of mind. When you pay for 2 hours of structured activities where children will be learning skills, your child also enjoys up to 3 hours of safe, supervised childcare. This means children take part in engaging sessions such as drama, creative arts, and reading, while parents have the reassurance of extended care at an affordable rate. It’s the perfect way to balance fun, learning, and flexibility for busy families.
Unfortunately, due to increasing regulations from the government, it is not longer feasible for us to provide children with food during this afternoon session.
We ask that all children bring their own 'healthy' packed lunch or snacks for the afternoon and we must stress the improtance of children not sharing their food with other children.
The new rules reflect the importance of 'Safeguarding' children and ensuring a safe and healthy environment in which they can flourish without risk of harm.

At the end of each full term, children will take to the stage for a special performance in front of friends and family. These shows are the culmination of a term’s creativity, teamwork, and dedication, giving every child the chance to shine. Each performance is built collaboratively, with pupils contributing to every aspect of the production — from acting, singing, and dancing to set design, costumes, and technical support.
Most importantly, every child will be acknowledged and celebrated for their efforts and contributions, making each show a true celebration of what it means to be part of:
